PHT Newsletter — May 2022

Development of Palestinian leadership of the Palestinian History Tapestry Project.

Dear Supporters and Readers of the PHT Newsletter,

We enter the second decade since the founding of the Palestinian History Tapestry project with much anticipation and enthusiasm.

This spring, Ramzy Baroud and Ilan Pappé’s new book ‘Our vision for Liberation: Engaged Palestinian Leaders & Intellectuals Speak Out’ was published by Clarity Press. It includes a joint chapter written by Jehan Alfarra, Project Co-Chair, and Jan Chalmers, Project Founder, featuring the Palestinian History Tapestry, its foundation, objectives and aspirations. The book is available for purchase online and at various book stores in the UK.

During our most recent AGM, the PHT team voted in new leaders of the image selection sub-committee, and we are looking forward to working with them to commission the stitching of new embroidery panels which will undoubtedly enrich the Palestinian History tapestry.

We are also eager to finalise preparations to launch the Palestinian History Tapestry Collection: Mansoja. Once up and running, products inspired by the designs of PHT panels will be available online for purchase. The objective of the PHT collection is to make the project more sustainable and provide income that will support the women stitchers and their valuable contributions to the tapestry.

With best wishes Jihan & Ibrahim
