This panel image has been drawn by Adham Jaber under the supervision of Ibrahim Muhtadi both of whom are artists living in Gaza and work for Atfaluna crafts. The sketch shows the old city roof tops and the minaret of Gaza City’s Great Omari Mosque. Date palms have grown throughout the Gaza Strip and have lined the main road from Gaza city in the north to the town of Rafah in the south. Gaza has through time been famous for pottery, orange and olive groves, and fishing, all of which are active industry’s today and are depicted in the drawing. The women from the Atfaluna embroidery group will stitch the first Gaza panel.
