A Palestinian Barbeque

On Sunday 7th July we held a barbeque lunch in aid of the tapestry. It was ticket entry only [exclusive].  Every ticket holder who came had their fill of Palestinian lamb kebab, and chicken on a skewer prepared and grilled in true Palestinian style by Helen and Mahmoud Hawari. There was hobes [bread] and hummus and traditional salata made by Judith English.  Fawzi from LBs of Oxford and Liz Taylor one of our advisors supplied us with the all too more-ish baklava.  Juice, cola, wine and beer flowed.  There were mounds of grapes and water melon pieces to keep with the tradition of a Palestinian barbeque.  Approx 50 people came, and the weather was as hot as any day in Palestine.  Thank you to all and especially to those who couldn’t make it but bought tickets or made donations.  After the barbeque a few of us came indoors and added to the coffers by paying a pound to watch Wimbledon men’s finals.
