This image is familiar in three religions. Jews refer to it as the hand of Miriam, to commemorate the sister of Moses and Aaron. Levantine Christians refer to it as the hand of Mary,

mother of Jesus.  In Islam, it is also known as the hand of Fatima, so named to commemorate Fatima Zahra, Muhammad’s daughter.
